Hi, I’m Cami — the creative behind Cami Creates.

Thoughtfully crafted celebrations — zhuzhed and Cami‑fied.

For as long as I can remember, being creative has filled my cup. I’m the person who gets warm fuzzies walking into Hobby Lobby or Michaels, who feels a spark the moment my Cricut powers on, and who lights up when someone says, “Can you help me brainstorm?” Creativity has always been my love language — the way I show care, joy, and intention.

Before launching this little shop, I worked as a corporate event planner, managing everything from national sales meetings and executive dinners to continuing education programs and bougie incentive trips. Those experiences sharpened my eye for detail and taught me how to create moments that feel polished, intentional, and memorable.

Earlier in life, as a teacher and then a mom, I found myself constantly making special gifts, adding thoughtful details, and little moments of magic for my students, my girls' teachers, birthdays, and celebrations. I’ve been dabbling in events since the early 2000s, and for years people told me, “You should start a business.” Eventually, I realized they were right.

A moment that shaped me: One of the most meaningful creative experiences of my life was helping with Night to Shine, a prom for people with special needs. It was celebration done to the absolute hilt — limo rides, a red carpet, balloon artists, therapy dogs, karaoke, a quiet room staffed by special‑ed teachers, corsages and boutonnieres, hair and makeup, a shoe‑shine station with real stirrups, a hospitality room for caregivers, professional photos, soft‑serve ice cream, and a buddy for every guest.

I don’t recreate Night to Shine for clients — that event stands beautifully on its own — but it shaped the way I see celebration. It taught me that thoughtful details matter. People deserve to feel special. That joy is the heart of it all.

What I create today: Cami Creates is the boutique expression of everything I love — clever party games, creative activity kits, custom backdrops and decor, and local zhuzh‑and‑Cami‑fied styling for Twin Cities celebrations. If there's something you need that you don't see in here - just ask!  I'm always up for a challenge! Everything I make is designed to be thoughtful, personal, and joy‑filled.

My friends often ask me to “Cami‑fy” things — to add that warm, clever, beautifully curated touch that makes a celebration feel special. And yes… I love a good zhuzh. A little sparkle. A thoughtful detail that transforms the moment.

A memory I’ll never forget: I hosted a shower for my friend’s daughter and when she walked in, saw the space — the details, the florals, the zhuzh — she cried. That moment reminded me why I do this.

My vision: To create boutique party games, creative kits, and celebration decor and add‑ons that bring joy to gatherings  — with optional local styling for those who want a little extra zhuzh. 

Whether it’s a birthday, shower, girls’ night, sleepover, bachelorette party, gender reveal, or family celebration, I believe a little zhuzh goes a long way — and sometimes all a moment needs is to be a little more Cami‑fied.
